Customer proposal stories always bring us so much joy! We could not wait to share this adorable one.
Chelsea and Sam met years ago at a dinner with mutual friends when they were undergraduates at Bowdoin College in Maine. They immediately bonded over their love of video games, but the semester was almost over and they did not talk again until classes started back up in the fall. After reconnecting that semester, Chelsea realized she liked Sam and asked him out, but it turned out he was dating someone else.
They remained friends, and down the road when Sam was single again, he asked Chelsea out. They made many memories together while finishing college and they also spent a year in a long-distance relationship while Chelsea completed an internship in California and Sam started his job in Colorado. Chelsea says moving in with Sam in Colorado helped solidify how they both felt and that they wanted to spend their future together.
On their five-year anniversary, the two took a trip to Yosemite National Park. Chelsea and Sam had talked about getting married before and there were hints of a proposal, but only Sam’s parents knew the plan. On a breezy October day, the two hiked to the top of Half Dome in the park and were walking around taking pictures. Suddenly Sam got down on one knee and pulled out a sparkling engagement ring, asking Chelsea to marry him! She said “yes!” and a nearby hiker caught the moment on camera!
Although filled with excitement, the couple was exhausted from their 16-mile hike and put off their celebration until the following evening, when they got all dressed up and had dinner at the Mountain Room in Yosemite Lodge. Once they got back to Colorado, they celebrated at Sam’s parents’ house.
We’re so happy for this beautiful couple and are overjoyed to be a part of their love story! Have a proposal story to share? Send it to Social@ShaneCo.com and you might see it featured on our blog.
